John 16:21
18 Tagairtí Cros

He said to the woman: I will intensify your labour pains; you will bear children with painful effort. Your desire  will be for your husband, yet he will rule over you.

For you will forget your suffering, recalling it only as water that has flowed by.

They will be horrified; pain and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in labour. They will look at each other, their faces flushed with fear.

Therefore I am  filled with anguish. Pain grips me, like the pain of a woman in labour. I am too perplexed to hear, too dismayed to see.

Before Zion was in labour, she gave birth; before she was in pain, she delivered a boy.

Writhe and cry out,  , Daughter Zion, like a woman in labour, for now you will leave the city and camp in the open fields. You will go to Babylon; there you will be rescued; there the Lord will redeem you from the grasp of your enemies!

Now, why are you shouting loudly? Is there no king with you? Has your counsellor perished, so that anguish grips you like a woman in labour?

For it is written, Rejoice, childless woman, unable to give birth. Burst into song and shout, you who are not in labour, for the children of the desolate woman will be many, more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.   ,

When they say, ‘Peace and security’, then sudden destruction  will come upon them, like labour pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
