Wasn’t it necessary for the Messiah to suffer   these things and enter into his glory? ’


I am the gate. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture.


If anyone serves me, he must follow me. Where I am, there my servant   also will be.   If anyone serves me, the Father will honour   him.


Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into his hands,  that he had come from God,  and that he was going back to God.


In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going   to prepare a place for you?


You have heard me tell you, “I am going away   and I am coming to you.” If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father,   because the Father is greater than I.


If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come again   and take you to myself, so that where I am you may be also.


‘Lord,’ Thomas  said, ‘we don’t know where you’re going. How can we know the way? ’


I came from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.’


The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who rejects the Son  will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.


For this is the will of my Father:   that everyone who sees the Son   and believes in him will have eternal life, and I will raise   him up on the last day.’
