The fear of mankind is a snare, but the one who trusts in the  Lord is protected.  ,


So whenever you give to the poor, don’t sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be applauded by people. Truly I tell you, they have their reward.


And he told them, ‘You are the ones who justify   yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts.   For what is highly admired by people is revolting   in God’s sight.


‘ “Well done, good   servant! ” he told him. “Because you have been faithful   in a very small matter, have authority over ten towns.”


If anyone serves me, he must follow me. Where I am, there my servant   also will be.   If anyone serves me, the Father will honour   him.


‘I do not accept glory   from people,


How can you believe, since you accept glory from one another but don’t seek the glory that comes from the only   God?


The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory;   but he who seeks the glory   of the one who sent him is true,   and there is no unrighteousness in him.


‘If I glorify myself,’ Jesus answered, ‘my glory is nothing. My Father #– #about whom you say, “He is our God” #– #he is the one who glorifies me.


On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly,  and circumcision is of the heart #– #by the Spirit, not the letter.  , That person’s praise is not from people but from God.


eternal life  to those who by persistence in doing good  seek glory, honour,  and immortality;


So don’t judge  anything prematurely, before the Lord comes,  who will both bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the intentions of the hearts. And then praise will come to each one from God.


For it is not the one commending himself who is approved, but the one the Lord commends.


and we didn’t seek glory  from people, either from you or from others.


but rather what is inside the heart  ,  #– #the imperishable quality of a gentle  and quiet  spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.


Saul said, ‘I have sinned. Please honour me  now before the elders of my people and before Israel. Come back with me so I can bow in worship to the Lord your God.’
