John 12:38

King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed about this and cried out to heaven,

My righteousness is near, my salvation appears, and my arms will bring justice to the nations. The coasts and islands will put their hope in me, and they will look to my strength.

Wake up, wake up! Arm of the  Lord, clothe yourself with strength. Wake up as in days past, as in generations long ago. Wasn’t it you who hacked Rahab to pieces, who pierced the sea monster?

Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the  Lord   been revealed?

Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied correctly about you when he said:

Jesus responded, ‘Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,   , because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven.

After crucifying him, they divided his clothes by casting lots.  ,

Even though he had performed so many signs in their presence, they did not believe in him.

This is why they were unable to believe, because Isaiah also said:

But this happened so that the statement written in their law might be fulfilled:   They hated me for no reason.   ,

While I was with them, I was protecting them by your name that you have given me. I guarded   them and not one of them is lost, except the son of destruction,   so that the Scripture   may be fulfilled.

So they said to one another, ‘Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it, to see who gets it.’ This happened that the Scripture  might be fulfilled  that says: They divided my clothes among themselves, and they cast lots for my clothing.   , This is what the soldiers did.

But not all obeyed the gospel.  For Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our message?   ,

And Isaiah says boldly, I was found by those who were not looking for me; I revealed myself to those who were not asking for me.   ,

Yet to those who are called,  both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God,

to reveal his Son  in me, so that I could preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone.
