and the Lord appeared to him that night and said, ‘I am the God of your father Abraham.  Do not be afraid, for I am with you.  I will bless you and multiply your offspring because of my servant Abraham.’


From the time that he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house because of Joseph.  The Lord’s blessing was on all that he owned, in his house and in his fields.


If anyone attacks you, it is not from me; whoever attacks you will fall before you.


The Lord says this: ‘As the new wine is found in a bunch of grapes, and one says, “Don’t destroy it, for there’s some good  in it,” so I will act because of my servants and not destroy them all.


So Jesus then told them plainly, ‘Lazarus has died.


Then Thomas  (called ‘Twin’  ) said to his fellow disciples, ‘Let’s go too so that we may die with him.’


When Jesus heard it, he said, ‘This sickness will not end in death but is for the glory of God,   so that the Son of God   may be glorified through it.’


Jesus responded, ‘This voice came, not for me, but for you.


I sanctify myself for them, so that they also may be sanctified by the truth.


Jesus did this, the first of his signs, in Cana  of Galilee.  He revealed  his glory,  and his disciples believed in him.


Indeed, everything is for your benefit so that, as grace extends through more and more people, it may cause thanksgiving  to increase to the glory of God.


This is why I endure  all things for the elect:  so that they also may obtain salvation, which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.


I have written these things to you who believe in the name  of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
