We will certainly die  and be like water poured out on the ground, which can’t be recovered. But God would not take away a life; he would devise plans so that the one banished from him does not remain banished.


before I go to a land of darkness and gloom, never to return.


They are higher than the heavens #– #what can you do? They are deeper than Sheol #– #what can you know?


For only a few years will pass before I go the way of no return.


If I await Sheol as my home, spread out my bed in darkness,


Will it go down to the gates of Sheol, or will we descend together to the dust?


Now I would certainly be lying down in peace; I would be asleep. Then I would be at rest


Terrors  are turned loose against me; they chase my dignity away like the wind, and my prosperity has passed by like a cloud.


He saturates clouds with moisture; he scatters his lightning through them.


The dead do not live; departed spirits do not rise up. Indeed, you have punished and destroyed them; you have wiped out all memory of them.


I said: I will never see the  Lord, the Lord in the land of the living; I will not look on humanity any longer with the inhabitants of what is passing away.
