Then they said to each other, ‘Obviously, we are being punished for what we did to our brother. We saw his deep distress when he pleaded with us, but we would not listen. That is why this trouble has come to us.’


I am disgusted with my life. I will give vent to my complaint and speak in the bitterness of my soul.


If I am wicked, woe to me! And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift up my head. I am filled with shame and have drunk deeply of  my affliction.


Be quiet,  and I will speak. Let whatever comes happen to me.


If I speak, my suffering is not relieved, and if I hold back, does any of it leave me?


Yet another person dies with a bitter   soul, having never tasted prosperity.


Today also my complaint is bitter.  , His  hand is heavy despite my groaning.


Be careful that you do not turn to iniquity, for that is why you have been tested by   affliction.


Do you think that you can disprove my words or that a despairing man’s words are mere wind?


If I said, ‘I will forget my complaint, change my expression, and smile,’


What can I say? He has spoken to me, and he himself has done it. I walk along slowly all my years because of the bitterness of my soul.


Indeed, it was for my own well-being that I had such intense bitterness; but your love has delivered me from the Pit of destruction, for you have thrown all my sins behind your back.


Being in anguish,  he prayed more fervently, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.


For I wrote to you with many tears out of an extremely troubled and anguished heart #– #not to cause you pain, but that you should know the abundant love I have for you.


Deeply hurt, Hannah prayed to the Lord and wept with many tears.
