If I am wicked, woe to me! And even if I am righteous, I cannot lift up my head. I am filled with shame and have drunk deeply of  my affliction.


I am a laughing-stock to my   friends, by calling on God, who answers me. The righteous and blameless man is a laughing-stock.


Now then, I have prepared my case; I know that I am right.


But come back and try again, all of you. I will not find a wise man among you.


then understand that it is God who has wronged me and caught me in his net.


Yet he knows the way I have taken; when he has tested me,  I will emerge as pure gold.


For Job has declared, ‘I am righteous, yet God has deprived me of justice.


Then Job replied to the Lord:


Therefore, I reject my words and am sorry for them; I am dust and ashes.  ,


So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.
