When Rachel saw that she was not bearing Jacob any children, she envied her sister. ‘Give me sons, or I will die! ’  she said to Jacob.


But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his, so whenever he slept with his brother’s wife, he released his semen on the ground so that he would not produce offspring for his brother.


You who tear yourself in anger   – should the earth be abandoned on your account, or a rock be removed from its place?


A fool’s displeasure is known at once, but whoever ignores an insult is sensible.


The one who keeps commands preserves himself; one who disregards  his ways will die.


A person with intense anger bears the penalty; if you rescue him, you’ll have to do it again.


A stone is heavy, and sand a burden, but aggravation from a fool outweighs them both.


Learn to be shrewd, you who are inexperienced; develop common sense, you who are foolish.


Don’t let your spirit rush to be angry, for anger abides in the heart of fools.


So Ephraim has become like a silly, senseless dove; they call to Egypt,  and they go to Assyria.


Then God asked Jonah, ‘Is it right for you to be angry about the plant? ’ ‘Yes, it’s right! ’ he replied. ‘I’m angry enough to die! ’


but wrath and anger to those who are self-seeking  and disobey the truth  while obeying unrighteousness.


For among them are those who worm their way into households and deceive gullible women overwhelmed by sins and led astray by a variety of passions,
