Judah is a young lion   – my son, you return from the kill. He crouches; he lies down like a lion or a lioness #– #who dares to rouse him?


Suddenly a powerful wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on the young people so that they died, and I alone have escaped to tell you! ’


His children will beg from   the poor, for his own hands must give back his wealth.


I shattered the fangs of the unjust and snatched the prey from his teeth.


Can you hunt prey for a lioness or satisfy the appetite of young lions


He saves the needy from their sharp words  , and from the clutches of the powerful.


His children are far from safety. They are crushed at the city gate, with no one to rescue them.


A lion has gone up from his thicket; a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his lair to make your land a waste. Your cities will be reduced to uninhabited ruins.


They will follow the  Lord; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.


A people rise up like a lioness; they rouse themselves like a lion. They will not lie down until they devour the prey and drink the blood of the slain.


He crouches, he lies down like a lion or a lioness #– #who dares to rouse him? Those who bless you will be blessed, and those who curse you will be cursed.


But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that I might fully preach the word and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.
