‘My lord, listen to me. Land worth four hundred shekels of silver   #– #what is that between you and me? Bury your dead.”


As the camels finished drinking, the man took a gold ring weighing half a shekel, and for her wrists two bracelets weighing ten shekels of gold.


All of King Solomon’s drinking cups were gold, and all the utensils of the House of the Forest of Lebanon  were pure gold.  There was no silver, since it was considered as nothing in Solomon’s time,


It claps  its hands at him and scoffs at him from its place.


Iron is taken from the ground, and copper is smelted from ore.


A crucible for silver, and a smelter for gold, and the Lord is the tester of hearts.


As a crucible refines silver, and a smelter refines gold, so a person should refine his praise.


Look, I have refined you,  but not as silver; I have tested  you in the furnace of affliction.


I will put this third through the fire; I will refine them as silver is refined and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, “They are my people,” and they will say, “The Lord is our God.” ’


so that the proven character of your faith   #– #more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire   #– #may result  in praise, glory, and honour  at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
