After these events, the word of the Lord came  to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid,  Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.


and consign your gold to the dust, the gold of Ophir  to the stones in the wadis,


Then you will delight   in the Almighty and lift up your face to God.


or with princes who had gold, who filled their houses  with silver.


There will be times of security for you – a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.


Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with my righteous right hand.


I say, ‘The Lord is my portion, therefore I will put my hope in him.’


What, then, are we to say about these things?  If God is for us, who is against us?


as grieving, yet always rejoicing;  as poor, yet enriching many; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.


Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Didn’t God choose the poor in this world  to be rich in faith  and heirs  of the kingdom that he has promised to those who love him?
