For what does he care about his family once he is dead, when the number of his months has run out?


Indeed, the evil person is spared from the day of disaster, rescued from the day of wrath.


He lies down wealthy, but will do so no more; when he opens his eyes, it is gone.


Surely the arrows of the Almighty have pierced   me; my spirit drinks their poison. God’s terrors are arrayed against me.


Wake yourself, wake yourself up! Stand up, Jerusalem, you who have drunk the cup of his fury from the Lord’s hand; you who have drunk the goblet to the dregs – the cup that causes people to stagger.


Rather, each will die for his own iniquity.  Anyone who eats sour grapes #– #his own teeth will be set on edge.


Babylon was a gold cup in the  Lord’s hand, making the whole earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; therefore, the nations go mad.


Look, every life belongs to me.  The life of the father is like the life of the son #– #both belong to me. The person who sins is the one who will die.


Tell them: As I live #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #I will do to you exactly as I heard you say.


And being in torment   in Hades,   he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off, with Lazarus at his side.


he will also drink the wine of God’s wrath, which is poured full strength into the cup of his anger.  He will be tormented with fire and sulphur  in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb,


A sharp  sword  came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it.  He will rule  them with an iron rod.  He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God,  the Almighty.
