Leave Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans! Declare with a shout of joy, proclaim this, let it go out to the end of the earth; announce, ‘The Lord has redeemed his servant   Jacob! ’

There is a voice of fugitives and refugees from the land of Babylon. The voice announces in Zion the vengeance of the  Lord our God, the vengeance for his temple.

Escape from Babylon; depart from the Chaldeans’ land. Be like the rams that lead the flock.

You who have escaped the sword, go and do not stand still! Remember the  Lord from far away, and let Jerusalem come to your mind.

Leave Babylon; save your lives, each of you! Don’t perish because of her guilt. For this is the time of the  Lord’s vengeance – he will pay her what she deserves.

We tried to heal Babylon, but she could not be healed. Abandon her! Let each of us go to his own land, for her judgement extends to the sky and reaches as far as the clouds.

‘Listen, Zion! Escape, you who are living with Daughter Babylon.’

He warned the community, ‘Get away now from the tents of these wicked men. Don’t touch anything that belongs to them,  or you will be swept away because of all their sins.’

With many other words he testified and strongly urged them, saying, ‘Be saved from this corrupt  generation! ’

Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord; do not touch any unclean thing, and I will welcome you.   ,

Then I heard another voice from heaven: Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins or receive any of her plagues.
