From the ends of the earth we hear songs: The Splendour of the Righteous One. But I said, ‘I waste away! I waste away! Woe is me.’ The treacherous act treacherously; the treacherous deal very treacherously.


You have never heard; you have never known; for a long time your ears have not been open. For I knew that you were very treacherous, and were known as a rebel from birth.


You will be righteous, Lord, even if I bring a case against you. Yet I wish to contend with you: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the treacherous live at ease?


They, the house of Israel and the house of Judah, have dealt very treacherously with me. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


Then the Lord said to me, ‘Go again; show love to a woman who is loved by another man and is an adulteress,  just as the Lord loves the Israelites though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.’


They betrayed the  Lord; indeed, they gave birth to illegitimate children. Now the New Moon  will devour them along with their fields.


But they, like Adam,  have violated the covenant; there they have betrayed me.


Judah has acted treacherously, and a detestable  act has been done in Israel and in Jerusalem. For Judah has profaned  the Lord’s sanctuary,  , which he loves,  and has married the daughter of a foreign god.  ,
