As the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom where my lord has not sent someone to search for you. When they said, “He is not here,” he made that kingdom or nation swear they had not found you.


He did what was evil  in the Lord’s sight just as his ancestors had done.


I have struck down your children in vain; they would not accept discipline. Your own sword has devoured your prophets like a ravaging lion.


The officials said to Baruch, ‘You and Jeremiah must hide and tell no one where you are.’


Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), and Rabbah #– #two cities, with their settlements.


On the west side, from the hill facing Beth-horon on the south, the border curved, turning southwards, and ended at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city of the descendants of Judah. This was the west side of their border.


So the Israelites set out and reached the Gibeonite cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, Chephirah, Beeroth, and Kiriath-jearim.


They sent messengers to the residents of Kiriath-jearim,  saying, ‘The Philistines have returned the ark of the Lord. Come down and get it.’


Time went by until twenty years had passed since the ark had been taken to Kiriath-jearim. Then the whole house of Israel longed for the Lord.
