Perhaps the Lord your God  will hear  all the words of the royal spokesman, whom his master the king of Assyria sent to mock the living God, and will rebuke  him for the words that the Lord your God has heard. Therefore, offer a prayer for the surviving remnant.” ’


One with a twisted mind will not succeed, and one with deceitful speech will fall into ruin.


So now, do not scoff, or your shackles will become stronger. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord God of Armies a decree of destruction for the whole land.


For Jerusalem has stumbled and Judah has fallen because they have spoken and acted against the  Lord, defying his glorious presence.


But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God  and eternal King. The earth quakes at his wrath, and the nations cannot endure his fury.


Say to the prophet, “What has the Lord answered you? ” or “What has the Lord spoken? ”


Your prophets saw visions for you that were empty and deceptive;  , they did not reveal your iniquity and so restore your fortunes. They saw pronouncements for you that were empty and misleading.


I tell you that on the day of judgement   people will have to account   for every careless   word they speak.


‘He told him, “I will condemn you by what you have said, you evil servant! If you knew I was a harsh man, collecting what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow,


‘People! Why are you doing these things? We are people also, just like you, and we are proclaiming good news to you, that you turn from these worthless things  to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything in them.  ,


For each person will have to carry his own load.


For who out of all humanity has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the fire, as we have, and lived?


for they themselves report  what kind of reception  we had from you: how you turned  to God from idols  to serve the living  and true  God


He speaks about these things in all his letters. There are some things hard to understand in them. The untaught and unstable will twist them to their own destruction,  as they also do with the rest of the Scriptures.


David spoke to the men who were standing with him: ‘What will be done for the man who kills that Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel?  Just who is this uncircumcised Philistine  that he should defy the armies  of the living God? ’


Your servant has killed lions and bears; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.’
