When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.


He ties his donkey to a vine, and the colt of his donkey to the choice vine. He washes his clothes in wine and his robes in the blood of grapes.

Who is this  coming up from the wilderness like columns of smoke, scented with myrrh and frankincense from every fragrant powder of the merchant?


Who is this  who shines like the dawn, as beautiful as the moon, bright as the sun, awe-inspiring as an army with banners?


Who is this  coming up from the wilderness, leaning on the one she loves? I awakened you under the apricot tree. There your mother conceived you; there she conceived and gave you birth.


But they will swoop down on the Philistine flank to the west. Together they will plunder the people of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be their subjects.


You nations, come here and listen; you peoples, pay attention! Let the earth and all that fills it hear, the world and all that comes from it.


‘This  is my servant;  I strengthen him, this is my chosen one;  I delight in him. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice  to the nations.


He will not break a bruised reed, and he will not put out a smouldering wick; he will faithfully bring justice.


I have not spoken in secret, somewhere in a land of darkness. I did not say to the descendants of Jacob: Seek me in a wasteland. I am the Lord, who speaks righteously, who declares what is right.


By myself I have sworn; truth has gone from my mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow  to me, every tongue will swear allegiance.


For every trampling boot of battle and the bloodied garments of war will be burned as fuel for the fire.


The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and for ever. The zeal of the Lord of Armies will accomplish this.


Kerioth,  Bozrah, and all the towns of the land of Moab, those far and near.


For by myself I have sworn’   #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #‘Bozrah  will become a desolation, a disgrace, a ruin, and an example for cursing, and all its surrounding cities will become ruins for ever.’

God is not a man, that he might lie, or a son of man, that he might change his mind. Does he speak and not act, or promise and not fulfil?


When he entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in an uproar, saying, ‘Who is this? ’


Therefore, he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, since he always lives to intercede  for them.


You are being guarded by God’s power  through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.


He wore a robe dipped in blood,  and his name is called the Word of God.
