and when my glory passes by, I will put you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.


but he will judge the poor righteously and execute justice for the oppressed of the land. He will strike the land with a sceptre  from his mouth, and he will kill the wicked with a command  from his lips.


‘This  is my servant;  I strengthen him, this is my chosen one;  I delight in him. I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring justice  to the nations.


Who among you fears the  Lord and listens to his servant? Who among you walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the  Lord; let him lean on his God.


The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are instructed to know how to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens me each morning; he awakens my ear to listen like those being instructed.


I have put my words in your mouth, and covered you in the shadow of my hand, in order to plant  the heavens, to found the earth, and to say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’


Today, I am the one who has made you a fortified city,  an iron pillar, and bronze walls  against the whole land #– #against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests, and the population.


This is why I have used the prophets to cut them down;  , I have killed them with the words from my mouth. My judgement strikes like lightning.


Sun and moon stand still in their lofty residence, at the flash of your flying arrows, at the brightness of your shining spear.


And Jesus called out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.’   , Saying this, he breathed his last.


Take the helmet  of salvation and the sword  of the Spirit   #– #which is the word of God.


For the word of God is living and effective  and sharper than any double-edged sword,  penetrating as far as the separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.


He had seven stars in his right hand; a sharp double-edged sword came from his mouth,  and his face was shining like the sun at full strength.


A sharp  sword  came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it.  He will rule  them with an iron rod.  He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God,  the Almighty.


‘Write to the angel of the church in Pergamum: Thus says the one who has the sharp, double-edged sword:


So repent! Otherwise, I will come to you quickly   and fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
