You have said, “I will cause you to prosper, and I will make your offspring like the sand of the sea, too numerous to be counted.” ’


I wish that someone might argue for a man with God just as anyone  would for a friend.


‘Come, let’s settle this,’ says the Lord. ‘Though your sins are scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are crimson red, they will be like wool.


‘Be silent before me, coasts and islands! And let peoples renew their strength. Let them approach; let them testify; let’s come together for the trial.


All the nations are gathered together, and the peoples are assembled. Who among them can declare this, and tell us the former things? Let them present their witnesses to vindicate themselves, so that people may hear and say, ‘It is true.’


The one who vindicates me is near; who will contend with me? Let us confront each other. Who has a case against me? Let him come near me!


‘ “This is what the Lord God says: I will respond to the house of Israel and do this for them:  I will multiply them in number like a flock.


But wanting to justify himself,  he asked Jesus, ‘And who is my neighbour? ’


And he told them, ‘You are the ones who justify   yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts.   For what is highly admired by people is revolting   in God’s sight.


Since they are ignorant of the righteousness of God  and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God’s righteousness.


And who has ever given to God, that he should be repaid?   ,


Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect?  God is the one who justifies.
