Who is it you mocked and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!


Isn’t Hezekiah misleading you to give you over to death by famine and thirst when he says, ‘The Lord our God will keep us from the grasp of the king of Assyria’?


Don’t let Hezekiah persuade you to rely on the Lord, saying, “The Lord will certainly rescue us! This city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.” ’


When he reached the den, he cried out in anguish to Daniel. ‘Daniel, servant of the living God,’ the king said,  ‘has your God, whom you continually serve, been able to rescue you  from the lions? ’


He will speak words against the Most High  and oppress  the holy ones  of the Most High. He will intend to change religious festivals  and laws,  and the holy ones will be handed over to him for a time, times, and half a time.  ,


He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god  or object of worship,  so that he sits  in God’s temple, proclaiming that he himself is God.
