4 All  the stars in the sky  will dissolve. The sky will roll up like a scroll, and its stars will all wither as leaves wither on the vine, and foliage on the fig tree.

Indeed, the stars of the sky and its constellations will not give their light. The sun will be dark when it rises, and the moon will not shine.


Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will shake from its foundations at the wrath of the  Lord of Armies, on the day of his burning anger.


Shining morning star,  , how you have fallen from the heavens! You destroyer of nations, you have been cut down to the ground.


Look up to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants will die like gnats.  , But my salvation will last for ever, and my righteousness will never be shattered.

This expression, ‘Yet once more,’ indicates the removal of what can be shaken   #– #that is, created things #– #so that what is not shaken might remain.

Then I saw him open  the sixth seal. A violent earthquake occurred;  the sun turned black like sackcloth  made of hair; the entire moon  became like blood;


The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day was without light and also a third of the night.
