The scoundrel’s weapons are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the needy with lies, even when the poor person says what is right.


Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.


So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him.


My lord should pay no attention to this worthless fool Nabal, for he lives up to his name:  His name means ‘stupid’, and stupidity is all he knows.  I, your servant, didn’t see my lord’s young men whom you sent.
