The only place it didn’t hail was in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.


Don’t set an ambush, you wicked one, at the camp of the righteous man; don’t destroy his dwelling.


On that day the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples. The nations will look to him for guidance, and his resting place will be glorious.


When the Lord gives you rest from your pain,  torment, and the hard labour  you were forced to do,


He will settle disputes among the nations and provide arbitration for many peoples. They will beat their swords into ploughs and their spears into pruning knives. Nation will not take up the sword against nation, and they will never again train for war.


Lord, you will establish peace for us, for you have also done all our work for us.


You will keep the mind that is dependent on you in perfect peace, for it is trusting in you.


He had said to them, ‘This is the place of rest; let the weary rest; this is the place of repose.’ But they would not listen.


For the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said: ‘You will be delivered by returning and resting; your strength will lie in quiet confidence. But you are not willing.’


There will be times of security for you – a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord is Zion’s treasure.


People will build houses and live in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.


I will produce descendants from Jacob, and heirs to my mountains from Judah; my chosen  ones will possess it, and my servants will dwell there.


In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely, and this is what she will be named: The Lord Is Our Righteousness.


They will no longer be prey for the nations, and the wild creatures of the earth will not consume them. They will live securely, and no one will frighten them.


The declaration of the Lord: ‘I myself will be a wall  of fire round it, and I will be the glory within it.’


For the Lord of Armies says this: ‘In pursuit of his glory, he sent me against the nations plundering you, for whoever touches you touches the pupil  of my  eye.


On that day, each of you will invite his neighbour to sit under his vine and fig tree.’  This is the declaration of the Lord of Armies.


Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people.


And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him.
