On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘I give this land to your offspring,  from the Brook of Egypt  to the great river, the River Euphrates:


Solomon and all Israel with him #– #a great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath  , to the Brook of Egypt   #– #observed the festival at that time  in the presence of the Lord our God, for seven days, and seven more days #– #fourteen days.  ,


But if you return to me and carefully observe my commands, even though your exiles were banished to the farthest horizon,  I will gather them from there and bring them to the place where I chose to have my name dwell.’


Only gleanings will be left in Israel, as if an olive tree had been beaten – two or three olives at the very top of the tree, four or five on its fruitful branches. This is the declaration of the  Lord, the God of Israel.


And now, says the  Lord, who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him so that Israel might be gathered to him; for I am honoured in the sight of the  Lord, and my God is my strength –


This is the declaration of the Lord God, who gathers the dispersed of Israel: ‘I will gather to them still others besides those already gathered.’


‘ “Return, you faithless children   #– #this is the Lord’s declaration #– #for I am your master,  , and I will take you,  one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.


Those who escape the sword will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah only few in number,  and the whole remnant of Judah, the ones going to the land of Egypt to stay there for a while, will know whose word stands, mine or theirs!


I will bring you from the peoples and gather you from the countries where you were scattered,  with a strong hand, an outstretched arm,  and outpoured wrath.

On the south side it will run from Tamar to the Waters of Meribath-kadesh,  and on to the Brook of Egypt  as far as the Mediterranean Sea.  This will be the southern side.


for I am about to give the command, and I will shake the house of Israel among all the nations, as one shakes a sieve, but not a pebble will fall to the ground.


The Lord of Armies says this: ‘I will save my people from the land of the east and the land of the west.


‘What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them,   does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field   and go after the lost one until he finds it?


But I have other sheep   that are not from this sheepfold; I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock, one shepherd.


Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out.


It proceeded to Azmon and to the Brook of Egypt  and so the border ended at the Mediterranean Sea. This is your  southern border.
