They went to Ophir  and acquired gold there #– #fifteen tonnes   #– #and delivered it to Solomon.


Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All of these were Joktan’s sons.


Wisdom cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or lapis lazuli.


The remaining trees of its forest will be so few in number that a child could count them.


Therefore a curse has consumed the earth, and its inhabitants have become guilty; the earth’s inhabitants have been burned, and only a few survive.


On that day seven women will seize one man,   saying, ‘We will eat our own bread and provide our own clothing. Just let us bear your name. Take away our disgrace.’


Then I said, ‘Until when, Lord? ’  And he replied: Until cities lie in ruins without inhabitants, houses are without people, the land is ruined and desolate,


and the Lord drives the people far away, leaving great emptiness in the land.
