His kingdom started with Babylon,  Erech,  Accad,  and Calneh,  in the land of Shinar.  ,


Shem’s sons  were Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.


As people migrated from the east,  they found a valley in the land of Shinar and settled there.


In those days King Amraphel of Shinar,  King Arioch of Ellasar, King Chedorlaomer of Elam,  and King Tidal of Goiim


The name of the second river is Gihon, which flows through the entire land of Cush.


Then the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and settled them in place of the Israelites in the cities of Samaria. The settlers took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.


King Ahasuerus imposed a tax throughout the land  even to the farthest shores.  ,


If the Lord of Armies had not left us a few survivors, we would be like Sodom, we would resemble Gomorrah.


On that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no longer depend on the one who struck them, but they will faithfully depend on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.


Isn’t Calno like Carchemish? Isn’t Hamath like Arpad? Isn’t Samaria  like Damascus?


There will be a road for the remnant of his people who will survive from Assyria, as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.


The Lord will make himself known to Egypt, and Egypt will know the Lord on that day. They will offer sacrifices and offerings;  they will make vows to the Lord and fulfil them.


The Lord will strike Egypt, striking and healing. Then they will turn to the Lord, and he will be receptive to their prayers and heal them.


A troubling vision is declared to me: ‘The treacherous one acts treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Advance, Elam! Lay siege, you Medes! I will put an end to all the groaning.’


Elam took up a quiver with chariots and horsemen, and Kir  uncovered the shield.


Therefore, in the east honour the  Lord! In the coasts and islands of the west honour the name of the  Lord, the God of Israel.


The surviving remnant of the house of Judah will again take root  downwards and bear fruit upwards.


Sing a new song to the  Lord; sing his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea with all that fills it, you coasts and islands with your   inhabitants.


Let them give glory to the  Lord and declare his praise in the coasts and islands.


He will not grow weak or be discouraged until he has established justice on earth. The coasts and islands will wait for his instruction.’


This is what the Lord says: ‘The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush and the Sabeans, men of stature, will come over to you and will be yours; they will follow you, they will come over in chains and bow down to you. They will confess  to you, “God is indeed with you,  and there is no other; there is no other God.” ’


See, these will come from far away, from the north and from the west,  , and from the land of Sinim.  ,


I will establish a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations #– #to Tarshish, Put,  Lud (who are archers), Tubal, Javan,  and the coasts and islands far away #– #who have not heard about me or seen my glory. And they will proclaim my glory among the nations.


all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Media;


Nations, hear the word of the  Lord, and tell it among the far off coasts and islands! Say, ‘The one who scattered Israel will gather him. He will watch over him as a shepherd guards his flock,


This is the word that came to Jeremiah for all the Jews living in the land of Egypt #– #at Migdol,  Tahpanhes,  Memphis,  and in the land of Pathros:


About Damascus: Hamath and Arpad are put to shame, for they have heard a bad report and are agitated, like  the anxious sea that cannot be calmed.


They made your oars of oaks from Bashan. They made your deck of cypress wood from the coasts of Cyprus, inlaid with ivory.


I will restore the fortunes of Egypt and bring them back to the land of Pathros, the land of their origin. There they will be a lowly kingdom.


I will make Pathros   desolate, set fire to Zoan, and execute judgements on Thebes.


‘Elam  is there with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword – those who went down to the underworld uncircumcised, who once spread their terror in the land of the living. They bear their disgrace with those who descend to the Pit.


After a long time you will be summoned. In the last years you will enter a land that has been restored from war  and regathered from many peoples to the mountains of Israel, which had long been a ruin.  They were brought out from the peoples, and all of them now live securely.


The Lord handed King Jehoiakim of Judah over to him, along with some of the vessels from the house of God.  Nebuchadnezzar carried them to the land of Babylon,  , to the house of his god,  and put the vessels in the treasury of his god.


Then he will turn his attention to the coasts and islands  , and capture many. But a commander will put an end to his taunting; instead, he will turn his taunts against him.


I saw the vision, and as I watched, I was in the fortress city of Susa,  in the province of Elam.  I saw in the vision that I was beside the Ulai Canal.


And the Judeans and the Israelites will be gathered together. They will appoint for themselves a single ruler and go up from   the land. For the day of Jezreel  will be great.


They will follow the  Lord; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.


They will be roused like birds from Egypt and like doves  from the land of Assyria. Then I will settle them in their homes. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


On that day people will come to you from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, even from Egypt to the River Euphrates and from sea to sea and mountain to mountain.


The Lord will be terrifying to them when he starves all the gods of the earth. Then all the distant coasts and islands of the nations will bow in worship to him, each in its own place.


‘To build a shrine for it in the land of Shinar,’  he told me. ‘When that is ready, the basket will be placed there on its pedestal.’


The Lord of Armies says this: ‘I will save my people from the land of the east and the land of the west.


and also against Hamath,  which borders it, as well as Tyre  and Sidon, though they are very shrewd.


For if their rejection brings reconciliation  to the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead?


And in this way all  Israel will be saved, as it is written, The Deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.


but whenever a person turns  to the Lord, the veil is removed.


But they are your people, your inheritance, whom you brought out by your great power and outstretched arm.
