Whenever burnt offerings are offered to the Lord on the Sabbaths, New Moons,  and appointed festivals, they are to offer them regularly in the Lord’s presence according to the number prescribed for them.


Woe to Ariel,  Ariel, the city where David camped! Continue year after year; let the festivals recur.


I will oppress Ariel, and there will be mourning and crying, and she will be to me like an Ariel.


You have not bought me aromatic cane with silver, or satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins; you have wearied me  with your iniquities.


For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and injustice; I will faithfully reward my people and make a permanent covenant  with them.


All humanity will come to worship me from one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another,’ says the Lord.


Isaiah  said, ‘Listen, house of David! Is it not enough for you to try the patience of men? Will you also try the patience of my God?


I will put an end to all her celebrations: her feasts,  New Moons,  and Sabbaths – all her festivals.


They betrayed the  Lord; indeed, they gave birth to illegitimate children. Now the New Moon  will devour them along with their fields.


Look, I am about to crush   you in your place as a cart crushes when full of grain.


I hate, I despise, your feasts! I can’t stand the stench of your solemn assemblies.


In one month I got rid of three shepherds. I became impatient with them, and they also detested me.


You have wearied the Lord   with your words. Yet you ask, ‘How have we wearied him? ’ When you say, ‘Everyone who does what is evil is good in the Lord’s sight, and he is delighted with them,  or else where is the God of justice? ’
