13 Your eyes  are too pure  to look on evil, and you cannot tolerate wrongdoing. So why do you tolerate those who are treacherous? Why are you silent while one  who is wicked swallows up one  who is more righteous than himself?

How much more when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house on his own bed! So now, should I not require his blood from you and purge you from the earth? ’


The Lord will bring back his own blood on his head because he struck down two men more righteous and better than he, without my father David’s knowledge. With his sword, Joab murdered Abner  son of Ner, commander of Israel’s army, and Amasa  son of Jether, commander of Judah’s army.


If you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will come to the Jewish people from another place,  but you and your father’s family will be destroyed. Who knows, perhaps you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.’


If God puts no trust in his holy ones and the heavens are not pure in his sight,


Why do the wicked continue to live, growing old and becoming powerful?


He gives them a sense of security, so they can rely on it, but his eyes  watch over their ways.


A troubling vision is declared to me: ‘The treacherous one acts treacherously, and the destroyer destroys. Advance, Elam! Lay siege, you Medes! I will put an end to all the groaning.’


From the ends of the earth we hear songs: The Splendour of the Righteous One. But I said, ‘I waste away! I waste away! Woe is me.’ The treacherous act treacherously; the treacherous deal very treacherously.


Woe, you destroyer never destroyed, you traitor never betrayed! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed. When you have finished betraying, they will betray you.


Lord, after all this, will you restrain yourself? Will you keep silent and afflict us severely?


or subverting a person in his lawsuit   – the Lord does not approve of these things.


You have made mankind like the fish of the sea, like marine creatures that have no ruler.


Do not plot evil  in your hearts against your neighbour,  and do not love perjury,  for I hate all this’ #– #this is the Lord’s declaration.


Though he was delivered up according to God’s determined plan and foreknowledge, you used  lawless people to nail him to a cross and kill him.
