So the Lord God said to the serpent: Because you have done this, you are cursed more than any livestock and more than any wild animal. You will move on your belly and eat dust all the days of your life.


So now you are cursed, alienated from the ground that opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood you have shed.


Their anger is cursed, for it is strong, and their fury, for it is cruel! I will disperse them throughout Jacob and scatter them throughout Israel.


Noah’s sons who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan.

Your offspring will be cursed, and your land’s produce, the young of your herds, and the newborn of your flocks.


Therefore you are cursed and will always be slaves #– #woodcutters and water-carriers for the house of my God.’


On that day he made them woodcutters and water-carriers #– #as they are today #– #for the community and for the Lord’s altar at the place he would choose.
