Abram replied to Sarai, ‘Here, your slave is in your power; do whatever you want with her.’ Then Sarai mistreated her so much that she ran away from her.


Abimelech said, ‘Look, my land is before you.  Settle wherever you want.’


Their words seemed good to Hamor and his son Shechem.


‘So now, let Pharaoh look for a discerning and wise man and set him over the land of Egypt.


The proposal pleased Pharaoh and all his servants,


Joseph kissed each of his brothers as he wept,  and afterwards his brothers talked with him.


Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘Tell your brothers, “Do this: load your animals and go on back to the land of Canaan.


All the people took note of this, and it pleased them. In fact, everything the king did pleased them.


The proposal pleased the king and the congregation,


The king and his counsellors approved the proposal, and he followed Memucan’s advice.


Then the young woman who pleases the king  will become queen instead of Vashti.’  This suggestion pleased the king, and he did accordingly.


His wife Zeresh and all his friends told him, ‘Have them build a gallows twenty-three metres  tall.  Ask the king in the morning to hang Mordecai on it. Then go to the banquet with the king and enjoy yourself.’ The advice pleased Haman, so he had the gallows constructed.


This proposal pleased the whole company. So they chose Stephen,  a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a convert from Antioch.


The second time, Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, and Joseph’s family became known to Pharaoh.


who went before you on the journey to seek out a place for you to camp. He went in the fire by night and in the cloud by day to guide you on the road you were to travel.
