Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain and invited his relatives to eat a meal. So they ate a meal and spent the night on the mountain.


When Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to his steward, ‘Take the men to my house. Slaughter an animal and prepare it, for they will eat with me at noon.’


you are to say, “Your servants, both we and our ancestors, have raised livestock  from our youth until now.” Then you will be allowed to settle in the land of Goshen, since all shepherds are detestable to Egyptians.’


But Moses said, ‘It would not be right  to do that, because what we will sacrifice to the Lord our God is detestable to the Egyptians.  If we sacrifice what the Egyptians detest in front of them, won’t they stone us?
