Early in the morning Abraham got up, took bread and a waterskin, put them on Hagar’s shoulders, and sent her and the boy away. She left and wandered in the Wilderness of Beer-sheba.


Then Israel said to him, ‘Go and see how your brothers and the flocks are doing, and bring word back to me.’ So he sent him from the Hebron  Valley, and he went to Shechem.


‘I’m looking for my brothers,’ Joseph said. ‘Can you tell me where they are pasturing their flocks? ’


Then Elisha said to them, ‘This is not the way, and this is not the city. Follow me, and I will take you to the man you’re looking for.’ And he led them to Samaria.


When Jesus turned and noticed them following him, he asked them, ‘What are you looking for? ’ They said to him, ‘Rabbi’  (which means ‘Teacher’), ‘where are you staying? ’


Then Jesus, knowing everything that was about to happen to him,  went out and said to them, ‘Who is it that you’re seeking? ’


Then he asked them again, ‘Who is it that you’re seeking? ’ ‘Jesus of Nazareth,’ they said.


‘Woman,’ Jesus said to her, ‘why are you crying? Who is it that you’re seeking? ’ Supposing he was the gardener, she replied, ‘Sir, if you’ve carried him away, tell me where you’ve put him, and I will take him away.’


Just then his disciples arrived, and they were amazed that he was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, ‘What do you want? ’ or ‘Why are you talking with her? ’


When Barak arrived in pursuit of Sisera, Jael went out to greet him and said to him, ‘Come and I will show you the man you are looking for.’ So he went in with her, and there was Sisera lying dead with a tent peg through his temple!
