If you find your gods with anyone here, he will not live!  Before our relatives, point out anything that is yours and take it.’ Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen the idols.


Then Jacob became incensed and brought charges against Laban. ‘What is my crime? ’ he said to Laban. ‘What is my sin, that you have pursued me?


I’ve been with you these twenty years. Your ewes and female goats have not miscarried, and I have not eaten the rams from your flock.


But if he won’t listen, take one or two others with you, so that by the testimony   of two or three witnesses every fact may be established.   ,


You are witnesses,  and so is God, of how devoutly, righteously,  and blamelessly  we conducted ourselves with you believers.


Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honourably in everything.


They took the things from inside the tent, brought them to Joshua and all the Israelites, and spread them out in the Lord’s presence.


Conduct  yourselves honourably among the Gentiles,  so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.


Yet do this with gentleness and reverence, keeping a clear conscience,  so that when you are accused,  those who disparage your good conduct in Christ will be put to shame.
