For your servant made a vow when I lived in Geshur of Aram,  saying, “If the Lord really brings me back to Jerusalem, I will worship the Lord in Hebron.” ’  ,


Mephibosheth,  Saul’s grandson, also went down to meet the king. He had not taken care of his feet, trimmed his moustache, or washed his clothes from the day the king left until the day he returned safely.


Mephibosheth said to the king, ‘Instead, since my lord the king has come to his palace safely, let Ziba take it all! ’


Naaman responded, ‘If not, please let your servant be given as much soil as a pair of mules can carry,  for your servant will no longer offer a burnt offering or a sacrifice to any other god but the Lord.


Jabez called out to the God of Israel, ‘If only you would bless me, extend my border, let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not experience pain’.  And God granted his request.


The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. This is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.


Today you have affirmed that the Lord is your God and that you will walk in his ways, keep his statutes, commands, and ordinances, and obey him.


whoever comes out the doors of my house to greet me when I return safely from the Ammonites will belong to the Lord, and I will offer that person as a burnt offering.’
