I will bless those who bless you, I will curse anyone who treats you with contempt, and all the peoples on earth will be blessed  through you.  ,


Jacob said, ‘Swear to me first.’ So he swore to Jacob and sold his birthright to him.


As soon as Isaac had finished blessing Jacob and Jacob had left the presence of his father Isaac, his brother Esau arrived from his hunting.


But Isaac answered Esau, ‘Look, I have made him a master over you, have given him all of his relatives as his servants, and have sustained him with grain and new wine. What then can I do for you, my son? ’


You will live by your sword, and you will serve your brother. But when you rebel, you will break his yoke from your neck.


He told his father and brothers, and his father rebuked him. ‘What kind of dream is this that you have had? ’ he said. ‘Am I and your mother and your brothers really going to come and bow down to the ground before you? ’


There we were, binding sheaves of corn in the field. Suddenly my sheaf stood up, and your sheaves gathered round it and bowed down to my sheaf.’


Let God extend Japheth; let Japheth dwell in the tents of Shem; let Canaan be Shem’s slave.


There was no king in Edom;  a district governor served as king.


Solomon ruled all the kingdoms from the River Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and as far as the border of Egypt.  They offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.


Although Judah became strong among his brothers  and a ruler came from him,  the birthright was given to Joseph.


This is what the Lord says: ‘The products of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush and the Sabeans, men of stature, will come over to you and will be yours; they will follow you, they will come over in chains and bow down to you. They will confess  to you, “God is indeed with you,  and there is no other; there is no other God.” ’


Kings will be your guardians and their queens  your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the  Lord; those who put their hope in me will not be put to shame.


This is what the  Lord, the Redeemer  of Israel, his Holy One, says to one who is despised, to one abhorred by people,  , to a servant of rulers: ‘Kings will see, princes will stand up, and they  will all bow down because of the Lord, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel   #– #and he has chosen you.’


For the nation and the kingdom that will not serve you will perish; those nations will be annihilated.


The sons of your oppressors will come and bow down to you; all who reviled you will fall face down at your feet. They will call you the City of the  Lord, Zion of the Holy One of Israel.


The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and for ever. The zeal of the Lord of Armies will accomplish this.


How can I curse someone God has not cursed? How can I denounce someone the  Lord has not denounced?


Edom will become a possession; Seir  will become a possession of its enemies, but Israel will be triumphant.


He crouches, he lies down like a lion or a lioness #– #who dares to rouse him? Those who bless you will be blessed, and those who curse you will be cursed.


‘And the King will answer them, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”


‘Then he will answer them, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”


not from works but from the one who calls #– #she was told, The elder will serve the younger.   ,
