The servant took ten of his master’s camels, and with all kinds of his master’s goods in hand, he went to Aram-naharaim, to Nahor’s town.


As the camels finished drinking, the man took a gold ring weighing half a shekel, and for her wrists two bracelets weighing ten shekels of gold.


Their father had given them many gifts of silver, gold, and valuable things, along with fortified cities  in Judah, but he gave the kingdom to Jehoram because he was the firstborn.


All their neighbours supported them  , with silver articles, gold, goods, livestock, and valuables, in addition to all that was given as a freewill offering.


Now announce to the people that both men and women should ask their neighbours for silver and gold items.’


The Israelites acted on Moses’s word and asked the Egyptians for silver and gold items and for clothing.


Each woman will ask her neighbour and any woman staying in her house for silver and gold jewellery, and clothing, and you will put them on your sons and daughters. So you will plunder the Egyptians.’


Your cheeks are beautiful with jewellery, your neck with its necklace.


Your branches are a paradise  of pomegranates with choicest fruits; henna with nard,


Hezekiah was pleased with the letters, and he showed the envoys his treasure-house #– #the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil #– #and all his armoury, and everything that was found in his treasuries.  There was nothing in his palace and in all his realm that Hezekiah did not show them.
