These are the family records of Terah. Terah fathered Abram, Nahor, and Haran, and Haran fathered Lot.


I will make you into a great nation, I will bless you, I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.


Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb.


God remembered Noah,  as well as all the wildlife and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. God caused a wind to pass over the earth,  and the water began to subside.


Remember me for this, my God, and don’t erase the deeds of faithful love I have done for the house of my God and for its services.


Then I instructed the Levites to purify themselves  and guard the city gates in order to keep the Sabbath day holy. Remember me for this also, my God,  and look on me with compassion according to the abundance of your faithful love.


Your wickedness affects a person like yourself, and your righteousness, a son of man.


Even if these three men were in it, as I live’ #– #the declaration of the Lord God  #– #‘they could not rescue their sons or daughters. They alone would be rescued, but the land would be desolate.


How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I surrender you, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I treat you like Zeboiim? I have had a change of heart; my compassion is stirred!


But because the Lord loved  you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors, he brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed  you from the place of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.


Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Disregard this people’s stubbornness, and their wickedness and sin.


You are not going to take possession of their land because of your righteousness or your integrity. Instead, the Lord your God will drive out these nations before you because of their wickedness, in order to fulfil the promise he swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.


and if he rescued righteous Lot,  distressed by the depraved behaviour of the immoral
