suppose the fifty righteous lack five. Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five? ’ He replied, ‘I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.’


Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground  and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils,  and the man became a living being.


You will eat bread  by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust.’


And I said: My God, I am ashamed and embarrassed to lift my face towards you, my God, because our iniquities are higher than our heads and our guilt is as high as the heavens.


He throws me into the mud, and I have become like dust and ashes.
