The men got up from there and looked out over Sodom, and Abraham was walking with them to see them off.


Then the Lord said, ‘Should I hide what I am about to do from Abraham?


The two angels entered Sodom  in the evening as Lot was sitting in Sodom’s gateway. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them. He bowed with his face to the ground


Early in the morning Abraham went to the place where he had stood before the Lord.


Then the Lord said to me, ‘Even if Moses and Samuel  should stand before me,  my heart would not go out to these people. Send them from my presence, and let them go.


Should good be repaid with evil? Yet they have dug a pit for me. Remember how I stood before you to speak good on their behalf, to turn your anger from them.


I searched for a man among them who would repair the wall  and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land so that I might not destroy it,  but I found no one.


Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven. He saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.


First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone,
