When Abram heard that his relative had been taken prisoner, he assembled  his 318 trained men, born in his household,  and they went in pursuit as far as Dan.


This is my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you, which you are to keep: every one of your males must be circumcised.


On that very day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised.


For I have chosen  him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfil to Abraham what he promised him.’
