These are the family records  of Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. They also had sons after the flood.


And Shem, Japheth’s elder brother, also had sons. Shem was the father of all the sons of Eber.


Let God extend Japheth; let Japheth dwell in the tents of Shem; let Canaan be Shem’s slave.


In the ninth year of Hoshea,  the king of Assyria captured Samaria. He deported  the Israelites to Assyria and settled them in Halah, along the Habor (Gozan’s river), and in the cities of the Medes.


I will establish a sign among them, and I will send survivors from them to the nations #– #to Tarshish, Put,  Lud (who are archers), Tubal, Javan,  and the coasts and islands far away #– #who have not heard about me or seen my glory. And they will proclaim my glory among the nations.


Vedan  and Javan from Uzal  , dealt in your merchandise; wrought iron, cassia,  and aromatic cane were exchanged for your goods.


Your sail was made of fine embroidered linen from Egypt, and served as your banner. Your awning was of blue and purple fabric from the coasts of Elishah.


‘Meshech and Tubal  , are there, with all their hordes. Their graves are all around them. All of them are uncircumcised, slain by the sword, although their terror was once spread in the land of the living.


and come from your place in the remotest parts of the north   #– #you and many peoples with you, who are all riding horses #– #a huge assembly, a powerful army?


‘Son of man, face Gog, of the land of Magog,  the chief prince of  Meshech and Tubal.  Prophesy against him


Gomer  with all its troops; and Beth-togarmah  from the remotest parts of the north along with all its troops #– #many peoples are with you.


‘As for you, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, “This is what the Lord God says: Look, I am against you, Gog, chief prince of  Meshech and Tubal.


and will go out to deceive the nations  at the four corners of the earth,  Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle.  Their number is like the sand of the sea.
