The priest Zadok took the horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon.  Then they blew the ram’s horn,  and all the people proclaimed, ‘Long live King Solomon! ’


Some of the priests’ sons mixed the spices.


Put these on your brother Aaron and his sons; then anoint,  ordain,  and consecrate  them, so that they may serve me as priests.


Prepare from these a holy anointing oil, a scented blend, the work of a perfumer; it will be holy anointing oil.


The Lord said to Moses, ‘Take fragrant spices: stacte, onycha, and galbanum; the spices and pure frankincense are to be in equal measures.


Grind some of it into a fine powder and put some in front of the testimony in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It must be especially holy  to you.


Oil  and incense bring joy to the heart, and the sweetness of a friend is better than self-counsel.


The fragrance of your perfume is intoxicating; your name is perfume poured out. No wonder young women  adore you.


Who is this  coming up from the wilderness like columns of smoke, scented with myrrh and frankincense from every fragrant powder of the merchant?
