Put these on your brother Aaron and his sons; then anoint,  ordain,  and consecrate  them, so that they may serve me as priests.


Clothe Aaron with the holy garments,  anoint him, and consecrate him, so that he can serve me as a priest.


The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal  the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;


You must not go outside the entrance to the tent of meeting or you will die, for the Lord’s anointing oil  is on you.’ So they did as Moses said.


‘The priest who is highest among his brothers, who has had the anointing oil poured on his head and has been ordained  to wear the clothes, must not dishevel his hair  or tear his clothes.


He must not leave the sanctuary or he will desecrate the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him;  I am the Lord.


This is the portion from the food offerings to the Lord for Aaron and his sons  since the day they were presented to serve the Lord as priests.


‘These are the two anointed ones,’  , he said, ‘who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.’


The assembly is to protect the one who kills someone from the avenger of blood. Then the assembly will return him to the city of refuge he fled to, and he must live there until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.


For the one whom God sent speaks God’s words, since he  gives the Spirit  without measure.


As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you. Instead, his anointing teaches you about all things  and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you,  remain in him.
