He drove the man out and stationed the cherubim and the flaming, whirling sword east of the garden of Eden to guard the way to the tree of life.


the weight of refined gold for the altar of incense;  and the plans for the chariot of  , the gold cherubim that spread out their wings and cover the ark of the Lord’s covenant.


He made  two cherubim of sculptured work, for the most holy place, and he overlaid them with gold.


Make a mercy seat  of pure gold, 1.15 metres long and 70 centimetres wide.


Make one cherub at one end and one cherub at the other end. At its two ends, make the cherubim of one piece with the mercy seat.


Their buds and branches are to be of one piece.  All of it is to be a single hammered piece of pure gold.


The Lord spoke to the man clothed in linen and said, ‘Go inside the wheelwork beneath the cherubim. Fill your hands with blazing coals from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city.’  So he went in as I watched.


These were the living creatures I had seen  beneath the God of Israel by the Chebar Canal,  and I recognised that they were cherubim.


Now the cherubim were standing to the south of the temple when the man went in, and the cloud  filled the inner court.


The cherubim of glory were above the ark overshadowing the mercy seat. It is not possible to speak about these things in detail at the moment.


So the people sent men to Shiloh to bring back the ark of the covenant of the Lord of Armies, who is enthroned between the cherubim.  Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
