4 I will harden Pharaoh’s heart so that he will pursue them. Then I will receive glory by means of Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.’ So the Israelites did this.

You performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, all his officials, and all the people of his land, for you knew how arrogantly they treated our ancestors. You made a name for yourself that endures to this day.


and so that you may tell  your son and grandson  how severely I dealt with the Egyptians and performed miraculous signs among them, and you will know that I am the Lord.’


But the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart,  and he was unwilling to let them go.


Then the Israelites went and did this; they did just as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron.


The Egyptians set out in pursuit #– #all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen #– #and went into the sea after them.


He caused their chariot wheels to swerve  , and made them drive  with difficulty. ‘Let’s get away from Israel,’ the Egyptians said, ‘because the Lord is fighting for them against Egypt! ’


Pharaoh will say of the Israelites: They are wandering around the land in confusion; the wilderness has boxed them in.


When the king of Egypt was told that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds about the people and said, ‘What have we done? We have released Israel from serving us.’


The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the Israelites, who were going out defiantly.  ,


Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods, because he did wonders when the Egyptians acted arrogantly against Israel.’  ,


I will take you as my people,  and I will be your God. You will know  that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from the forced labour of the Egyptians.


This is what the Lord says: Here is how you will know that I am the Lord. Watch. I am about to strike the water in the Nile with the staff in my hand, and it will turn to blood.


But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart  and multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt.


The Egyptians will know that I am the Lord   when I stretch out my hand  against Egypt and bring out the Israelites from among them.’


However, I have let you live for this purpose: to show you my power  and to make my name known on the whole earth.


But I acted for the sake of my name,  so that it would not be profaned in the eyes of the nations they were living among, in whose sight I had made myself known to Israel by bringing them out of Egypt.


You are to say, “This is what the Lord God says: Look! I am against you, Sidon, and I will display my glory within you. They will know that I am the Lord when I execute judgements against her and demonstrate my holiness through her.


When I make the land of Egypt a desolation, so that it is emptied of everything in it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the Lord.


You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud covering the land. It will happen in the last days, Gog, that I will bring you against my land so that the nations may know me, when I demonstrate my holiness through you in their sight.


I will display my greatness and holiness, and I will reveal myself in the sight of many nations.  Then they will know that I am the Lord.”


All the people of the land will bury them and their fame will spread  on the day I display my glory.  This is the declaration of the Lord God.


Moses said to Aaron, ‘This is what the Lord has spoken: I will demonstrate my holiness  , to those who are near me, and I will reveal my glory  , before all the people.’ And Aaron remained silent.


as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.  ,


For the Scripture tells Pharaoh, I raised you up for this reason, so that I may display my power in you and that my name may be proclaimed in the whole earth.   ,


So then, he has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy and he hardens whom he wants to harden.


For it was the Lord’s intention to harden their hearts,  so that they would engage Israel in battle, be completely destroyed without mercy, and be annihilated, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.


Then I will lure Sisera commander of Jabin’s army, his chariots, and his infantry at the Wadi Kishon  to fight against you, and I will hand him over to you.” ’
