Esther still did not reveal her family background or her ethnicity, as Mordecai had directed. She obeyed Mordecai’s orders, as she always had while he brought her up.


Hathach came and repeated Mordecai’s response to Esther.


For how could I bear to see the disaster that would come on my people?  How could I bear to see the destruction of my relatives? ’


Even if I were in the right, I could not answer. I could only beg my Judge for mercy.


A king’s heart is like channelled water in the  Lord’s hand: He directs it wherever he chooses.

Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be arrogant  or to set their hope on the uncertainty of wealth, but on God,  who richly provides us with all things  to enjoy.
