When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him, saying, ‘I am God Almighty.  Live  in my presence and be blameless.


Enoch walked with God; then he was not there because God took him.


‘They will not hand you over,’ Jeremiah replied. ‘Obey the Lord in what I am telling you, so that it may go well for you and you can live.


So the church  throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.


since God’s gracious gifts and calling  are irrevocable.  ,


Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you  to present your bodies as a living sacrifice,  holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship.


Therefore I urge you to imitate me.


Now I, Paul, myself, appeal to you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ #– #I who am humble among you in person but bold towards you when absent.


Therefore, we are ambassadors  for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,  ‘Be reconciled to God.’


Working together with him, we also appeal to you, ‘Don’t receive the grace of God in vain.’


I beg you, brothers and sisters: Become as I am, for I also have become as you are. You have not wronged me;


For we are his workmanship, created  in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared in advance  for us to do.


For this reason, I, Paul, the prisoner  of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles #– #


Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord: You should no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thoughts.


There is one body and one Spirit   #– #just as you were called to one hope  , at your calling #– #


and walk in love, as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us,  a sacrificial and fragrant offering to God.


Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life  worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm  in one  spirit, in one accord,  contending together for the faith  of the gospel,


I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly  call in Christ Jesus.


so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work  and growing in the knowledge of God,


So then, just as you have received  Christ Jesus as Lord,  continue to walk in him,


Epaphras,  who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. He is always wrestling  for you in his prayers, so that you can stand mature and fully assured  in everything God wills.


we encouraged, comforted, and implored each one of you to walk worthy of God,  who calls you into his own kingdom  and glory.


In view of this, we always pray for you that our God will make you worthy of his calling,  and by his power fulfil your every desire to do good  and your work produced by faith,


He has saved us and called us with a holy calling,  not according to our works,  but according to his own purpose  and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.


or stealing, but demonstrating utter faithfulness, so that they may adorn the teaching of God our Saviour  in everything.


equip  you with everything good to do his will, working in us what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever.  , Amen.


Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.


Dear friends, I urge you as strangers and exiles  to abstain  from sinful  desires that wage war against the soul.


not paying back evil for evil  or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing,  since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.


The God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory  in Christ,  will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you after you have suffered a little while.


His  divine power  has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge  of him who called  us by  his own glory and goodness.


So now I ask you, dear lady #– #not as if I were writing you a new command, but one we have had from the beginning #– #that we love one another.
