Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.


If the axe is dull, and one does not sharpen its edge, then one must exert more strength; however, the advantage of wisdom is that it brings success.


Indeed, I am about to send snakes among you, poisonous vipers  that cannot be charmed. They will bite you. This is the  Lord’s declaration.


And the tongue is a fire. The tongue, a world of unrighteousness, is placed  among our members. It stains the whole body,  sets the course of life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.


but no one can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
