But Jesus answered him, ‘It is written: Man must not live on bread alone.’   ,,


They all ate the same spiritual food,


I led you for forty years in the wilderness; your clothes and the sandals on your feet did not wear out;


you did not eat food or drink wine or beer #– #so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.


For they are not meaningless words to you but they are your life,  and by them you will live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.’


When I went up the mountain to receive the stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant  the Lord made with you, I stayed on the mountain for forty days and forty nights. I did not eat food or drink water.
